Residential energy storage refers to energy storage systems for home users.
A residential energy storage system is usually installed in combination with a PV system to provide electricity to home users. During the day, PV-generated power is first supplied to meet the local load, while the surplus energy is stored in the battery. Additional surplus energy, if any, can be selectively supplied to the grid. During the night, the battery discharges to meet the local load, when the PV system cannot generate power.
