Djakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway Project, Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) Project, Indonesia National Petroleum Corporation Project, Maldives Kandinma Resort Distributed Energy Project...... SAONON has always actively participated in the energy cooperation of the "the Belt and Road". In the context of global carbon neutrality, SAONON continues to strengthen our innovation capability and help the "the Belt and Road" countries to achieve green upgrading in energy.
In Maldives, the first phase of the "solar-Storage-Diesel" microgrid project undertaken by SAONON has been officially put into operation, and the second phase is accelerating construction. After all projects are put into operation, it will effectively solve the problem of power shortage and provide green, smart, and economical electricity for the resorts.
Affordable, stable, and clean energy
Due to geographical constraints, the Maldives relies primarily on diesel power, leading to high electricity prices, and significant carbon emissions. To address this situation, the client urgently seeks to introduce a cost-effective, stable, and reliable power generation system. This initiative aims to not only reduce electricity costs but also to establish a green and smart image for the resort, promoting sustainability. Simultaneously, to ensure an uninterrupted guest experience, the project requires minimizing power outages and construction time during the renovation period as much as possible.
Cutting-edge CMS, efficient solar power, and smart BESS
2MW Photovoltaic
3MW/6.8MWh BESS
5MW Diesel Generator
The Maldives, spanning the equator, enjoys an average of 8 hours of sunlight per day. Leveraging this abundant sunlight, the SAONON engineering team has designed a photovoltaic power generation system to reduce the cost of electricity generation in the Maldives. Solar power costs are low, but highly unstable. To ensure stable power supply, SAONON configures diesel generators and BESS based on load demand capacity.
In this setup, photovoltaic and BESS serve as the primary power sources, while diesel generators function as backup power sources. The microgrid converts solar energy into electricity. During periods of ample sunlight, photovoltaic panels prioritize supplying power to the load, with excess electricity stored in the energy storage system. This stored energy is released during times of insufficient energy supply or peak demand, ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply. Additionally, the project is equipped with a 5MW diesel generator to cope with nighttime operations, adverse weather conditions, and energy shortages.
The CMS independently developed by SAONON can manage the energy of microgrid systems to ensure efficient and stable operation. CMS is the brain of microgrid systems and also SAONON's core competitiveness.

Minimum carbon emissions and maximum economic benefits
Solar power generation per year: 3500 MWh
Fuel consumption saved per year: 1 million L
Fuel cost savings per year: $950,000
Emission reduction per year: 2310 t
A sustainable clean energy solution ensures stable power supply while achieving annual savings of $950,000 in fuel costs. The generating set operates as backup power only during energy shortages, resulting in significantly reduced maintenance expenses compared to continuous 24/7 operation.
This not only proves the feasibility of using a clean and innovative hybrid energy microgrid system as an independent power plant, but also reflects SAONON's excellent comprehensive service capabilities. SAONON will continue to increase our R&D investment in the field of new energy, providing green, smart, and economical power solutions to customers worldwide.
